United Methodist Men's Group
One of the missions of our churches United Methodist Men's group is to honor those who served in the U.S. Military from our community and who are now deceased. As of 2021 the men have built painted and stenciled over 250 crosses. These crosses are placed along Highway 90 in Sneads, FL one week prior to Veterans Day and they stay on display for two weeks time.
The group also makes a special cross for those that died in combat, listing the war or country where they gave the ultimate sacrifice. These crosses are placed by the war memorial in Sneads along Highway 90 for one week before Memorial Day and one week after.
This program is funded entirely by donations and the volunteer labor force of our Men's group.
Programs and Outreach
For Spirit and Community
Sneads First UMC works to bring fellowship and support into our community through outreach programs like Friday Night Game Night, Fall Festivals, Veteran Memorials and Honors, Community Meals and many other activities and events that help us share God's message throughout our county.
Vacation Bible School
Every Year Sneads United Methodist Church goes all in on building and creating a Vacation Bible School that brings the Love of Jesus to the children of our community. It is an entirely free event filled with all sorts of Bible lessons, Crafts, Games, and of course food.
VBS typically runs from Sunday Evening through Thrusday evening. Then all the kids are invited back the following Sunday morning to show off what they learned. Parents get to see their children singing, quoting scripture, and sharing in the love of our Lord.
Every Year Sneads First UMC jumps into action helping our community. From food drives to motivational gift bags for our local highschool students. We also try to help those who may need a little extra help around the holidays with meals, Christmas presents, and anything else we can think of.
SFUMC also helps with cleaning up the Sneads athletic fields and occasionally helps with yard work at Pope Cemetary when there is a need. The church also sponsors the Class of 2024, and some of the athletic teams at the high schooll across the street from us.
It is our goal to help our community grow and become vibrant while sharing the Good News and leading people to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
